How do I get started?
Click Try 2 Weeks Free and you will be guided through the short form that tells us who your loved one is.
From there we send a welcome email, our team has a family call with you, and we begin matching.
From sign-up to the first call is generally about two weeks.
How do I know who my loved one is speaking with?
Your security and peace of mind are paramount to us. All of our Buddies — our conversationalists — are background checked, have a wellness assessment on file, and go through continuous training.
With your membership you know exactly the circle of Buddies your loved one is matched with. You receive an update after each call by text and/or email, as well as in your dashboard, where you can also see the profiles of everyone your loved one speaks with.
When do calls begin after I sign up?
We typically complete matching within two weeks of your sign-up. We take the right Buddy fit seriously — and we will keep you informed every step of the way.
Does my loved one need a smartphone or app? No!
All they need is any phone. We call them at their scheduled time — no downloads, no setup, nothing to figure out.
Can anyone see my loved one's phone number?
Never. Every HappyTalks call is routed through our secure privacy-masked platform. Neither your loved one nor their Buddy ever sees the other's real phone number. Your family's privacy is protected on every single call.
Can I give HappyTalks as a gift?
Absolutely. Many families give HappyTalks for birthdays, holidays, or just because. Gift memberships are available — tell us about your gift and we will make it special.

How and when will I be charged?
We ask for a card to start your free period so your loved one’s Buddy relationship continues without interruption. Your two free calls begin once they’re matched, and you won’t be charged until those calls are complete. Cancel anytime before then at no cost.
Three days before your first charge we will send you a reminder email so you always know exactly what is coming and when. Your first charge comes once the two free calls are complete, at your selected plan rate — The Spark ($59/month), The Buddy ($110/month), or The Circle ($180/month).
After your free period ends your membership renews automatically each month. To make changes to your plan or cancel at any time visit your membership portal or call or text us anytime at 844.254.2779 — our team will respond within one business day.

Will HappyTalks ever be covered by Medicare?
We are actively working toward it. HappyTalks is currently partnering with physicians and billing specialists to pursue Medicare reimbursement — a process already in motion. Coverage will become available state by state as we move through the reimbursement process.

Do you work with medical providers?
